Hello blog world, happy Sunday :)

Finn and I decided to venture outside of the hostel and to a cafe to get some of our work done but, unsurprisingly, I'm finding this place full of distractions and will probably have to head home if I want to make any real progress on anything.
I am extremely happy to report things have gotten A LOT better since I last wrote. I've started taking an herbal remedy every night before bed and have been making a point of being IN bed by 11:00 and I've been sleeping amazingly well and wake up feeling rested and happy and ready for the world. Yesterday I was told I look "5 years younger" now that I've been sleeping, and I don't doubt that for a second.
School has been trucking along- last week was pretty intense, coming to a head on Friday afternoon when I taught 14 students between the ages of 14-16 about "directions" and "neighborhoods." Here, my first-hand experience as the most disruptive kid in school came in handy and I was actually able to implement my entire lesson plan without having to raise my voice too many times! 10 Points for Emma.

I'm still speaking way too much English, but at least I'm getting out a lot more. Yesterday three of us got a little lost on our way to the zoo, not thinking to ask the bus driver whether to not we had passed our stop till half an hour after we had, but I was so thankful we hadn't! That was the first time I really felt like I even got a glimpse outside of the upper-middle-class bubble my life here is centered around. This city is huge and dynamic with so much to offer, and as soon as I get through my homework I can get back to exploring!
Something that's been tripping me out lately is the fact that I'm seriously studying to become a teacher, and at this rate, it's looking like I will have a job TEACHING in a month, possibly even less time than that. THIS IS SO CRAZY!! I haven't had a real job that was even remotely meaningful in years. And I've always thought that teachers are the most honorable/respectable/badass people out there, but I never thought I had any sort of ability to actually teach. Seeing that I do is kinda freaking me out and turning my world upside down a little bit!

Ps: I don't know what's up with this formatting... kinda bothersome. Oh well.
