| This is my drawing of a tree and my classmate's psychological assesment. |
I had my second day of Spanish class today and you can all rest-assured that I seem to be doing pretty well. Today in class I took two different personality tests, one of which involved me drawing a picture of a tree that one of my classmates subsequently analyzed. Turns out I am a relatively stable person who is fun and relateable. Who knew.
Later I went to the (biggest) market (in Latin America) and convinced my classmate-to-be to eat brain-tacos, because I'm too scared to be adventurous with food without Christine hand feeding me (read: emmaeatstaiwan.blogspot.com). I also bought produce and a watch to cover up my silly wrist tattoo in the off-chance I ever find myself in a professional situation.
I miss Mexico City. This hostel feels like an American-college dorm... but in Mexico. Not unlike
my experience at Clark in Worcester MA, few stray very far from campus physically, socially or mentally. Most people staying here now are finishing up the certification course that I'm starting this coming Monday, and they've all made a point of making sure I know how seriously intense the certification course is, and to not expect to have time for anything once the course starts... Don't get me wrong, everyone here is extremely genuine, sweet, helpful and a pleasure to be around; these next few weeks just might not be the richest as far as cultural immersion. Of course I'll make the most of it :)
Ok, I hope I have more of interest to report back next time.
<3,
Emma
PS: I might try going back to the food angle... We'll see.
